What does living wholly mean to you?
Making sure I understand and embrace that life is a blessing, a gift and it’s to be lived. I’ve learned to try and make every precious moment count. Also that discovery and evolution is a part of fully living and that sharing and connecting is like a breath of fresh air every time you meet a new soul. These experiences have taught me more about myself and about others too. It’s a big world out there, get out and discover it!
What are your top 3 tips for holistic living?
Share your gifts. Be kind to yourself and others. Meditate, eat healthy foods and tender your heart. Let yourself out of the box, see what’s out there and what you’re truly capable of. Fear is something that can talk you out of living the way you deserve to.
What is your favorite detox?
Water, Green Tea, Ginger and Tumeric!
What is your self-care practice?
Singing, meditation, checking in with my soul, never forgetting to love, cry if necessary, laugh with abandon and discover as much as I can. Knowing that I’m human and when I fall, the only way to continue moving forward is to get right back up. Realizing I’m here for a reason and to be as true as I can to that as long as I live. Appreciating myself as an individual, being different and original and hoping I can inspire others to do the same and not be afraid of that.
What teachers have you worked with and/or currently work with to inspire and support your evolution in consciousness?
Too many to name, they’re all very important and special to me and I love them dearly. Some have passed on, others are still here on this Earth, and I learn from them every moment of every day. We keep in touch, and make sure to tell each other the truth at all times. We forgive each other, allow for sacred growing space, and elevate each other’s souls at all times.
What has been the most challenging experience in your life that turned out to be the most meaningful opportunity to your life's path?
One of the most challenging experiences has been understanding that losing a loved one is to learn to experience grief, let it pass through you, understand and embrace it, then let the memory of that loved one color and fill your spirit with the legacy, lessons and beauty he/she has left behind.
What gifts do you want to contribute to the world?
As many as I can while I’m here on this Earth in order to leave something behind when I’m gone. My music, voice, laughter, love, heart, warmth, experiences and wisdom respectfully learned from my ancestors and elders.

What is your super-natural gift?
Ha Ha…..Ohh that’s a fun question. We’re all super natural! For me, to touch souls with my voice through my heart, which is my gift from the divine. My ability is to feel souls and stir them too, to challenge people to stand on your tippy toes, then when you’ve reached as high as you think you can go…..spread your wings and fly honey child, FLY!!! LOL
Who inspires you?
The Divine, My Mother, Father (rest his soul) and family. Music inspires me, all kinds from all walks of life. I’ve worked with so many amazing and iconic artists and have learned from them all. Through this I was inspired to create my own CD entitled “This IS Soul Kirtan!”, a blend of Soul, Kirtan, R&B, Reggae, Gospel, Southern Blues, Folk and Country. Kirtan is a sacred, divine and beautiful form of call and response chanting dating back over 500 years from India. It has touched my heart to be able to share this CD with the entire world. Souls that have come before me, icons, spiritual leaders, musical legends, scholars, etc. All who have had something to say and contribute to this world, and weren’t afraid to stand up and do so. My good and long time precious friends, and the souls I have yet to meet that I know will add to my life experiences along the way!
What is your present state of mind?
Right now everyone counts and everyone matters. It’s one of my everyday mantras. At other times it can be so many things. I’m very cerebral, yet mindful of my heart and soul too. I don’t limit myself to feeling and thinking about as many things as humanly possible. It keeps me on my toes, and others around me as well. I like to be excited and stimulated by life.
What music are you listening to right now?
Deva Premal & Miten, two of my favorite and most treasured, beautiful souls. Earlier today, I was listening to Krishna Das, Jai Uttal, Shyamdas, Miles Davis, Sarah Vaughan and Ben Harper! More of my favorites. I also love classical music, Beethoven calms my heart.

What are you reading right now?
Nothing at the moment. Just finished a book. (smile) I read a lot, started when I was 2 years old. I love watching documentaries too.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
Any and all the islands. They’re sacred places with years and years of history and so beautiful and untouched. I love places like that, it speaks to my heart. You can take your shoes off, run in the grass, taste the food of deep culture and love, dance with the happiest of local souls, and let yourself run free, forget about time and space and just be.
What has been your most memorable revelation while traveling?
That I LOVE to travel to new places and meeting new people. It’s always been such a treat for me, I’ll never stop being in love with this. The more I travel, the more my spirit grows and learns.
What are your “must haves” while traveling?
Plenty of water, oils and scents, face and body moisturizers and creams, beautiful e-books to read, music and meditation tracks to listen to. A stuffed animal my Mother gave me long ago, earplugs, my nutritional items that keep me going and give me such amazing energy, incense, candles, head wraps (smile), necessary clothing items, things like that.
What is your favorite quote?
When you have a gift you must share it. Stop wasting time always being the judge and jury, sometimes it’s harder to grow that way. Take your gifts to the world to the peoplel! Someone will love and appreciate what you have to offer but you can’t be afraid to find out. It’s the saddest thing to have something so beautiful inside of you, keeping it trapped in fear and doubt with nowhere to go. You have to set it free, connect other souls with it, let it fly and in turn you’ll learn just what you’re truly made of, and others too. The most precious gift of all is to discover why you’re truly here on this Earth for and what you can do to make it a better place. The living is now, it’s up to you to discover why you're really here.
